Why: The first time I ever bumped into Die! Die! Die! was back in Aus­tralia, on a ran­dom search for new music. Noth­ing stuck, but that was years ago, and just on their recorded tracks. Lis­ten­ing to them now (check out their Douban, there’s a few tracks for down­load there), and with many more gigs under my belt, I can see how the music will work at D-22, and con­sid­er­ing the local com­pany they’ve got I can’t wait to see the show. The B-Side Lovers should be good, as I haven’t seen Atom and Zo out­side of Hedge­hog for a while. I haven’t seen Wan­der­lust or Bird­strik­ing yet, but I’ve seen enough videos on pang­bianr to feel like I know them both quite well. It should be a great show, and some long over­due expo­sure to Eng­lish lan­guage music that I am sorely behind on.

If you can’t make it out to that, there’s plenty more where that came from! Yang Meng of Chun­qiu fame is hit­ting Jiangjin­jiu on Fri­day to debut his new solo album, 9:30, 30RMB; Pet Con­spir­acy is also launch­ing their long-awaited first album at Mao Live­house, Sat @ 9PM, 100/80RMB; and finally, Korean & Japan­ese exper­i­men­tal duo (((10))) is out and about this week­end, catch them Sat­ur­day at D-22, with a great local lineup 10PM, 50/40RMB, Sun­day at Hot Cat Club for a more inti­mate show, 8:30PM, 30RMB, or next Tues­day at D-22’s Zoomin’ Night, 9PM, 30/20RMB.
